Role overview
This position sits within a leading oncology research and clinical trials service and focuses on coordinating cancer studies from patient recruitment through to final reporting. It is a temporary full-time opportunity in a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary environment where clinical care and research work hand in hand.
Work setting
The role is based at Blacktown Hospital, within the Blacktown Medical Oncology Research unit in Western Sydney. The service is known for delivering patient-centred cancer care and supporting research innovation across medical, nursing, and research disciplines.

Key duties
The role involves managing the full clinical trial lifecycle while maintaining accuracy, compliance, and high standards of delivery.
- Coordinate trials in accordance with study protocols, ethics obligations, and regulatory requirements
- Oversee patient recruitment, informed consent, ongoing follow-up, and continued participation in studies
- Prepare and maintain trial documentation, including ethics applications, amendments, safety reporting, and audit records
- Work with internal and external stakeholders such as sponsors, ethics committees, and investigators
- Gather, assess, and interpret trial data to support reporting and clinical decision-making
Employment details
This is a temporary full-time role until 27/07/2027. The position classification is Health Manager Level 1. The advertised pay range is $44.28 to $58.91 per hour, based on 38 hours per week.

Selection criteria
- A degree in a health-related field and/or relevant professional experience
- Prior experience working in clinical trials
- Strong planning and organisational capability
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team
