Job description

Role overview

This position is funded through the UK Dementia Trials Network and sits within the Alzheimer’s Society UKDTN Research Nurse programme. The post will be based at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and delivered in collaboration with the Centre for Healthy Brain Ageing at the Institute for Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, led by Professor Dag Aarsland.

The Senior Clinical Research Nurse / Clinical Studies Officer will be central to expanding and supporting early-stage dementia clinical trials across South London. The role combines clinical research delivery, participant support, and close work with investigators, sponsors, and research teams.

Key purpose of the post

You will help manage and deliver early-phase dementia trial protocols, making sure all research activity protects participant safety and follows relevant research governance requirements. A major part of the role is the direct oversight and support of patients taking part in these studies.

Organisation overview

South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust provides the broadest range of NHS mental health services in the UK, along with substance misuse services for people affected by drug and alcohol dependence. The Trust works closely with the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience at King’s College London and forms part of King’s Health Partners Academic Health Sciences Centre.
