Role Responsibilities

This role involves managing complex clinical research protocols independently with minimal oversight from the principal investigator or supervisor, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and institutional guidelines. The coordinator will collaborate extensively with internal departments and external research sites and sponsors to resolve challenges and facilitate seamless study completion. Key duties include screening and enrolling research participants, coordinating schedules, monitoring ongoing research activities, detecting and reporting adverse events and deviations, maintaining data quality compliance, and providing educational training to departmental staff.

Additional responsibilities entail supporting protocol development and maintenance activities, such as document editing, amendments, coordinating study logistics (e.g., managing specimen collection kits), ensuring protocol content accuracy and regulatory compliance, preparing and submitting IRB and federal documentation, and providing expert consultation on regulatory and policy matters. Regular communication with study sites and federal agencies regarding protocol status changes is also part of the role. Some travel may be required.

Experience should preferably be in clinical settings or related fields.

Preferred qualifications include graduation from a study coordinator training program, a minimum of one year’s clinical research experience, and completion of a medical terminology course. No specific licensure or certification is required. The position is nonexempt and eligible for benefits.

Occasionally, evening, weekend, and overtime work may be required based on operational needs. Weekend shifts are scheduled as necessary.
