Clinical Research Assistant / Genetic Counseling Assistant

Role Overview

This role involves active participation and support in research and academic initiatives, collaborating with researchers, nursing staff, physicians, and ancillary personnel within the department.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage in research efforts by aiding the team in locating suitable participants for study protocols and preparing necessary research documentation.
• Coordinate with Medical Records and auxiliary departments to facilitate research activities.
• Obtain academic and research articles from library resources while ensuring all documents are systematically archived.
• Serve as a communication bridge between the department and other institutional teams as needed.
• Assist staff in organizing academic and research conferences or presentations involving inter-departmental coordination.
• Contribute to drafting research proposals and manage distribution of research materials and correspondence.
• Conduct literature reviews to support ongoing studies.
• Act as an intermediary between research teams and medical library staff while collaborating with the healthcare team.
• Maintain communication across various departments and personnel.
• Perform other related duties as assigned, adhering to essential functions under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirement of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree completion in a science-related field such as biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or genetics is strongly preferred.
• Preferred candidates include pre-health students, specifically those preparing for genetic counseling or medical school.
• Relevant prior experience in the field is highly valued.
• A commitment to a two-year tenure in this position is desirable.
