Role overview

MedVet is hiring a Clinical Education Specialist to support training coordination for clinical services. This position focuses on onboarding, continuing education, student extern and observer programs, training documentation, and the upkeep of manuals and records. The role also supports general hospital and departmental training and contributes to the development of consistent learning resources across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate onboarding and training for all new clinical services team members.
• Run new-hire orientation and site-level introductory training.
• Make sure required clinical skill and procedure training is completed, either directly or through the right clinical services experts.
• Collect feedback and observations from mentors or subject matter experts for each new team member.
• Keep onboarding and training files current for every new clinical services hire.
• Plan, deliver, and monitor ongoing training for clinical services staff, including mandatory topics and other needs-based sessions.
• Provide annual mandatory training such as OSHA and radiation safety.
• Communicate and train teams on new medications, equipment, and procedures.
• Arrange additional hands-on clinical training when needed.
• Track each team member’s progress against training plans using tests and assessments.
• Maintain all training records and documentation for individual staff members.
• Schedule and coordinate student and observer programs at the hospital.
• Support the veterinary technician student extern program.
• Support MedVet observer programs for new hires and others as needed.
• Contribute to the development and delivery of clinical services learning programs.
• Help build consistent, standardized training processes, programs, resources, and manuals for clinical services roles across the organization.
• Create and maintain hospital- and department-specific training resources with local clinical leadership.
• Work with regional marketing partners on speaker suggestions, topics for clinical services continuing education, and referral partner training requests.
• Provide ongoing support to clinical teams by working as a clinical team member when directed by the manager.

Candidate profile

• A credentialed technician license is required.
• A bachelor’s or associate degree in animal sciences, veterinary technology, or a related field is an advantage.
• Strong ability to balance team and individual priorities while contributing to a positive team environment.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and able to learn industry-specific software.
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks at once.
• Maintains a professional, caring image through high personal work standards.
• Can communicate and collaborate effectively with both new and existing team members.
• Brings a positive attitude and a strong team-first mindset.
• Works diplomatically, stays approachable, supports coworkers, and encourages cross-department communication and cooperation.
• Can work with minimal supervision and take initiative.
