Job description
About the company
Getinge is a global medical technology organisation focused on helping more people access high-quality care. Its products and solutions are designed to improve clinical results and make care delivery more efficient across intensive care, cardiovascular procedures, operating theatres, sterile reprocessing, and life sciences. With a workforce of more than 12,000 people operating in over 135 countries, the company is driven by a shared mission to support life-saving healthcare.
Role overview
Based in Auckland, this position is for a Clinical Account Manager – Acute Care Therapies supporting the New Zealand team. The role blends clinical education with commercial account management, with responsibility for strengthening the ACT portfolio across ICU, theatre, and critical care settings nationwide. The initial focus will be Auckland hospitals, with broader national coverage developing over time.
Key responsibilities
You will be expected to combine clinical expertise with sales execution to help grow the Acute Care Therapies business and support customers through product adoption and training.
- Expand the Acute Care Therapies portfolio throughout New Zealand, starting with Auckland-based hospitals and progressively covering the wider country.
- Provide practical clinical education, product instruction, and on-site support to ICU and theatre healthcare professionals.
- Develop trusted working relationships with important stakeholders such as ICU clinicians, nurse educators, and procurement teams.
- Assist with product evaluations, trials, and implementation activities to encourage successful uptake and customer satisfaction.
- Work with the sales team on commercial delivery, including tenders, quotations, and account planning.
- Create and carry out territory plans that support revenue objectives and wider business priorities.
- Build deep knowledge of the product range, with early emphasis on ventilation and wound care therapies.
- Travel throughout New Zealand as needed, with travel expected to be up to approximately 50%.
About you
The ideal candidate will come from a clinical critical care background and be comfortable combining patient-care knowledge with commercial thinking.
- Strong clinical experience in critical care, with ICU exposure considered essential.
- Preferably at least 5 years of ICU experience, along with interest in or early exposure to a commercial or industry-focused role.
- Ability to present clearly and confidently, particularly when training clinical audiences.
- Business-minded and curious about sales, with the ability to contribute to commercial conversations.
- Well organised, adaptable, and able to juggle multiple priorities in a busy environment.
- Excellent relationship-building skills and the credibility to work with both clinical and non-clinical contacts.
- Self-directed, resilient, and comfortable working independently across a national territory.
- Willingness to travel and enthusiasm for a dynamic field-based position.
What’s on offer
- Opportunity to join a highly regarded global health technology company committed to quality healthcare solutions.
- Continuous learning and professional development support.
- A positive team environment that recognises and celebrates success.
- Flexibility to help support effective work and overall wellbeing.
- Access to both local and global career development opportunities.
- Competitive pay and benefits, including paid parental leave.
Additional requirements
Applicants selected for the role will need to complete reference checks, a police check, and a medical assessment before appointment.
Working location and travel
This is an Auckland-based onsite position with nationwide travel requirements. Travel across New Zealand may account for up to about half of the role.
Who should apply
This role suits a clinically strong ICU professional who wants to move into or grow within a commercial customer-facing position, enjoys relationship management, and is motivated by performance and outcomes.
