Role Overview

The Clinic Manager, also referred to as Clinic In-Charge, is entrusted with leading, organizing, and managing the daily administrative and operational activities of the clinic in Kochi, Kerala. Reporting to the Hospital Administrator, Regional Operations Manager, Medical Director, or Chief Operating Officer, this role emphasizes ensuring efficient, patient-centered healthcare services aligned with regulatory standards and quality benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily clinic operations, including workflow optimization, resource allocation, and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Manage patient experience by reducing wait times, handling complaints promptly, fostering patient engagement, and ensuring confidentiality aligned with healthcare regulations.
  • Lead and supervise multidisciplinary staff including front office, nursing, pharmacy, technicians, and housekeeping; responsible for recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
  • Coordinate scheduling and operations of medical professionals and specialists, ensuring readiness of consultation and treatment facilities.
  • Handle financial oversight covering revenue monitoring, billing accuracy, cash management, expense tracking, budgeting, and reporting to improve profitability without compromising care quality.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory compliance, licensing, accreditation standards, infection control, risk management, and readiness for audits.
  • Manage inventory, procurement, and maintenance of medical supplies and equipment to guarantee availability and operational reliability.
  • Drive quality assurance initiatives, conduct audits, monitor KPIs, implement improvements, and uphold accreditation standards.
  • Support marketing and business development efforts to boost patient acquisition, retention, and service expansion by analyzing market dynamics.
  • Prepare comprehensive operational reports and conduct review sessions with senior management to communicate performance and improvement plans.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospital Administration, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, or closely related healthcare field required.
  • Master's degree in Hospital Administration (MHA), Healthcare Management, MBA (Healthcare), or equivalent preferred.
  • Between 5 to 8 years of experience managing hospital or clinic operations, including at least 2 to 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Experience with multi-specialty clinics, diagnostic centers, outpatient departments (OPDs), or ambulatory care facilities is advantageous.

Technical Expertise

  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare operations and administration, revenue cycle management, and regulatory compliance.
