Job description
Position Overview
The Clinic Coordinator plays a vital role in providing extensive administrative and coordination support within the Plastics and Vascular Surgery outpatient units. The role focuses on the smooth operation of patient pathways and clinic functions, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to optimize clinic scheduling, manage patient records, and assist clinicians in delivering excellent care.
Core Responsibilities
- Oversee and arrange outpatient appointments for the Plastics and Vascular Surgery departments.
- Track patient pathways in compliance with Referral to Treatment (RTT) and NHS performance expectations.
- Prepare clinic lists, patient notes, and necessary documentation to facilitate clinical processes.
- Coordinate effectively with consultants, nursing staff, allied health professionals, general practitioners, and other relevant teams to support patient care.
- Handle appointment scheduling, cancellations, and rescheduling to maximize clinic utilization.
- Address patient inquiries with professionalism and empathy, offering appropriate assistance and information.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records within the Trust's systems, ensuring data integrity.
- Monitor outcomes of clinics and ensure timely completion of follow-up actions.
- Report any concerns regarding clinic capacity, scheduling, or patient pathways to management as appropriate.
- Contribute to service improvement projects and help achieve departmental performance objectives.
