Job description

Overview

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board invites applications for the role of Clinic Clerk/Receptionist within the Urology department. This part-time position supports the urology team, including the urology day case unit at Royal Gwent Hospital and provides coverage for D2West, the urology elective ward. The role belongs to the Division of Surgery but may require supporting other divisions as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide professional and reliable clerical and reception support to urology patients and staff.
  • Manage administrative duties with strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Operate hospital information systems with training provided.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and team members, maintaining high standards even under pressure.
  • Exhibit adaptability to meet the changing needs of the department and service.

Candidate Requirements

  • Demonstrated extensive experience in administration and receptionist roles.
  • Proficient IT skills, particularly with hospital IT systems and Microsoft Office packages.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities to liaise efficiently within a healthcare environment.
  • Welsh language skills are considered an asset, though candidates fluent in English are equally encouraged to apply.

Remuneration

The position is compensated according to the NHS Band 3 salary scale, which will be updated in August 2026, backdated to April 2026 as applicable, reflecting the NHS Agenda for Change pay award for 2026/2027.
