Role overview
This full-time Cleaning Technician role focuses on detailed cleaning and restoration support for homes and businesses. The work includes cleanup after fire and smoke damage, removing soot, handling nicotine and tar residue, post-construction cleaning, and general deep cleaning. The goal is to help return properties to a safe, clean, and usable condition while delivering consistent, high-quality service.
What you’ll do
- Carry out specialized cleaning tasks such as fire and smoke damage cleanup, soot removal, nicotine and tar treatment, post-construction cleaning, and standard residential or commercial deep cleaning.
- Restore affected surfaces and contents including walls, ceilings, and floors damaged by smoke, odors, or construction debris.
- Use and care for cleaning equipment and tools such as HEPA vacuums, air scrubbers, and specialty cleaning equipment.
- Load, organize, and keep service vehicles stocked with tools, equipment, and supplies needed for each job.
- Set up work areas and containment/staging as needed before cleaning begins.
- Share job-site conditions, safety concerns, and supply requirements with supervisors in a timely manner.
- Follow approved cleaning methods and product instructions to ensure safe, effective results.
- Coordinate with supervisors and teammates to keep work moving efficiently.
- Complete end-of-job cleanup and leave the site tidy and orderly.
- Continue learning specialty cleaning methods, products, and equipment as part of ongoing development.
- Take on additional duties as required by the project.
Requirements
- A valid driver’s license is required.
- Physically able to lift at least 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally with assistance.
- Comfortable climbing ladders, working at ceiling height, and operating in tight spaces such as attics and crawl spaces.
- Able to perform repetitive physical work including pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying.
- Willing to work around cleaning chemicals, agents, smoke, nicotine, and other strong odors.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to doing quality work.
- High school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Prior experience in cleaning, janitorial work, restoration, or construction is preferred.
- IICRC certifications are an advantage but not mandatory.
- Dependable, hardworking, and able to communicate clearly.
Schedule and travel
The role is full time, scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., totaling 40 hours per week. Some evenings, weekends, and extended hours may be needed depending on the project. Travel is mostly local, with occasional work outside the area.

Pay is $20 to $23 per hour based on experience, with overtime opportunities.
