Job overview
This role focuses on keeping apartment buildings clean, welcoming, and presentable while also delivering responsive service to residents and tenants. The Cleaner supports the overall upkeep of the property by handling routine indoor cleaning, assisting with move-out turnover work, and taking care of outdoor seasonal duties when needed.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain the cleanliness of shared indoor spaces by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, polishing glass and chrome surfaces, treating carpet stains, and freshening the air.
- Help prepare vacant suites for new occupancy by cleaning floors, bathrooms, surfaces, and windows so the unit is ready to rent.
- Clean and care for hallways, air vents, light fixtures, emergency lighting, fire extinguishers, landings, entry areas, elevators, the laundry room, and the office.
- Carry out seasonal outdoor upkeep, including raking grounds, removing snow, and applying salt to walkways as needed.
- Collect waste from garbage containers and keep the areas around dumpsters clean and tidy.
Qualifications
A high school diploma is preferred, or else an equivalent background with at least two years of cleaning experience. Candidates should also be familiar with suitable cleaning supplies and equipment. The position requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and comfortably bend, push, pull, and move up and down stairs.
