About the Role
Aldar Education is hiring a UAE National Classroom Assistant for Al Ain British Academy in Al Ain with an immediate start. The position supports a growing network of owned and operated schools across the UAE. As a major education provider in Abu Dhabi, the group serves more than 34,000 students in its owned and managed schools across Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.

Responsibilities
- Support individual pupils and small groups both in and out of class so they can take part fully in school activities and maintain their social, emotional, and physical well-being.
- Stay proactive in matters related to safety and welfare.
- Help deliver individual education plans and assist in tracking pupil progress.
- Work with pupils who need extra support, including those facing emotional or behavioural challenges, and help build their social skills.
- Assist teachers in keeping pupil records up to date.
- Help prepare and display pupils’ work.
- Support teachers with photocopying and other classroom tasks that aid teaching delivery.
- Contribute to the school’s goals while following health and safety rules, relevant laws, and internal policies.
- Provide academic support through group or one-to-one instruction as directed by the teacher.
- Demonstrate learning activities and help carry out classroom instructions.
- Monitor assigned work, checking and correcting pupils’ work during completion.
- Keep pupils focused on their tasks.
- Encourage and praise achievements while reporting pupil progress to the teacher.
- Reset and organise materials at the end of the school day.
- Check attendance.
- Supervise pupils in classrooms and other school areas.
- Help develop behaviour policies and encourage pupils’ self-esteem.
- Address misbehaviour in line with the school’s overall behaviour policy.
Requirements
- A minimum secondary school certificate is required.
- At least 2 years of experience in a school environment is needed.
- English language ability must match the requirements of the school curriculum.
- The applicant must be a UAE National with at least a secondary school certificate or a bachelor’s degree.
- Prior experience supporting students for whom English is not a first language is preferred.
- Strong commitment to teaching and to supporting the development of the whole child is essential.
- Applicants should demonstrate professionalism and a strong focus on children’s well-being.
- Recent and ongoing participation in extracurricular activities is expected.
- Respect for all members of the school community, regardless of role, gender, age, or ethnicity, is important.
- A positive, practical, and solution-oriented attitude is required.
- A clean enhanced DBS check or police clearance is needed.
- The role is intended for immediate joining.
