About the Role
The Claims team at Coalition distinguishes itself by delivering exceptional service and expertise in managing claims for insured clients, particularly around complex Cyber, Tech, and Media insurance policies. This role involves coordinating efforts with breach coaches, defense and coverage counsel, and partner carriers. The position supports both claims handling and underwriting activities.
Based anywhere within Australia, this is a fully remote opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the intake and evaluation of incident reports, coordinating with breach counsel, forensic experts, and vendors
- Assess claims thoroughly, determining and recommending suitable reserves
- Administer litigation processes related to third-party liabilities arising from cyber security breaches or data compromises
- Maintain meticulous documentation within the claims management system
- Evaluate liability and damages for complex claims, ensuring proper records and documentation
- Interpret and analyze insurance coverage provisions relevant to claims
- Effectively oversee and monitor third-party vendors and service providers’ performance and expenditures
- Build and maintain relationships with brokers, client stakeholders such as risk managers and general counsels, as well as external vendors
- Identify settlement possibilities to optimize claim resolutions
- Collaborate closely in defense and resolution activities for claims
- Support underwriters by providing data-driven insights and analysis
- Assist marketing and business development efforts as needed
- Maintain daily communication and coordination with partner insurance carriers
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in adjusting cyber insurance claims
- Preferred education includes a Law degree or Bachelor's degree
- Proven teamwork ability, adaptable to evolving work environments and able to meet defined goals
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Motivated, proactive, and able to thrive in a collaborative culture
