Role Overview: Claims Investigator
As a Claims Investigator, you will primarily assess various injury claims, determining liability within Employers' Liability, Public Liability, and Motor Liability sectors. A large part of your role involves examining accidents involving employers, the public, and motor claims related to our policyholders. Your investigative, negotiation, analytical, relationship management, and decision-making skills will be integral to providing efficient service aligned with business goals. You will deliver detailed investigation reports to claims handlers and Defence Solicitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver efficient and effective investigation, negotiation, and settlement services for claims.
- Conduct audits of Panel Investigators and external Claim Handling Providers to maintain service quality standards.
- Prepare and communicate case decisions and solutions to Intact Insurance clients within agreed authority limits.
- Manage claims investigation and settlement negotiations for preferred clients.
- Offer preventative and post-event advice to clients to reduce future claims and lessen current claim impacts.
- Maintain account profitability by applying technical expertise to claims aligned with business targets.
- Serve as a resource for colleagues and customers by providing expert advice and guidance.
Essential Requirements
- Qualification with APA/CIP.
- Between 2 to 3 years’ experience in a comparable or related role.
- Possession of a full clean driving licence; company car provided.
- Willingness to undertake overnight stays when required.
- Effective communication capabilities.
- Strong negotiation aptitude.
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
- Competency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Regulatory Compliance
- Position requires compliance with Fitness & Probity Standards under Section 50 of the Central Bank Reform Act 2010 and any updates.
- Role falls under the Minimum Competency Code (MCC), requiring ‘Qualified Person’ status and adherence to continuous professional development.
- Additional qualifications such as Health & Safety or Legal Studies are advantageous but not mandatory.
