Civil Site Inspector - Power Generation Project

About the Role

This opportunity entails serving as a Civil Site Inspector tasked with overseeing civil and structural works on a confidential Independent Power Producer (IPP) project in Dubai, UAE. The employment is on a project basis.

Primary Duties

• Examine earthworks, excavation, backfilling, formworks, reinforcement installations, concrete structures, foundations, buildings, roadways, drainage systems, and other pertinent civil construction activities.
• Ensure all works conform to the sanctioned drawings, technical specifications, method statements, Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), and inspection checklists.
• Observe and record civil tests such as concrete integrity assessments, soil compaction evaluations, inspections of incoming materials, and overall quality verifications.
• Detect and document site deficiencies, non-compliance issues, hazardous situations, and outstanding punch list tasks requiring resolution.
• Keep comprehensive inspection documentation including daily progress reports, photographic evidence, and quality assurance paperwork.
• Liaise effectively with Civil Engineers, Quality Assurance/Quality Control teams, the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) Contractor, and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) personnel.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possession of a Diploma or a Degree in Civil Engineering.
• No less than seven years’ experience in civil site inspection roles.
• Familiarity with industrial, power sector, utilities, infrastructure, or EPC project environments.
• In-depth understanding of civil inspection procedures, concrete works methodologies, foundation constructs, and QA/QC documentation standards.
• Previous work experience within the UAE or broader GCC region is advantageous.
