Job description

About The Role

Al Rugaib Holding Company is seeking a motivated Fresh Graduate or Junior Civil Engineer to join our team in Riyadh. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience within our Project Management Office (PMO) and engineering departments, focusing on construction, fit-out, commercial, and infrastructure projects. It's an excellent opportunity for individuals with zero to two years of experience to develop practical skills in site coordination, documentation management, quantity assessment, reporting, and overseeing various project elements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support to senior engineers in the examination of civil drawings, technical specifications, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), scopes of work, and other engineering documents.
  • Participate in site visits and inspections to monitor project progress, ensure quality standards, identify safety concerns, and verify adherence to approved designs.
  • Document site observations, generate inspection reports, and diligently follow up on outstanding issues, Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and necessary corrective actions under guidance.
  • Assist in the creation of progress reports, meeting minutes, quantity take-offs, input for cost estimations, and comprehensive project documentation.
  • Facilitate coordination efforts among architects, MEP engineers, contractors, consultants, suppliers, and internal PMO stakeholders.
  • Aid in tracking construction activities against established schedules, approved drawings, directives, and project priorities.
  • Support the organization and management of Requests for Information (RFIs), material submittals, shop drawings, as-built drawings, handover documentation, and all project records.
  • Assist in verifying basic site measurements and quantities, and assessing work completion status for reporting and follow-up.
  • Adhere to all safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory requirements, and escalate any technical challenges to senior engineering staff.
  • Gain a practical understanding of construction methodologies, contract administration, site coordination practices, and PMO reporting procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related academic field.
  • Be a recent graduate or an early-career professional with a maximum of two years of relevant experience, including internships or cooperative training programs.
  • Demonstrate a foundational understanding of construction techniques, civil engineering drawings, specifications, BOQs, and site coordination principles.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential; experience with Civil 3D, Revit, ETABS, or similar engineering software is advantageous.
  • Exhibit strong command of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Possess a basic capability in report generation, project record organization, and clear communication of technical observations.
  • Communicate effectively in both Arabic and English, with a strong desire to enhance technical writing skills.
  • Exhibit meticulous attention to detail, a proactive problem-solving approach, and a keen willingness to learn from experienced engineers.
  • Be prepared to work on project sites and travel between different project locations as needed.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who are registered with or eligible for registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers.

What The Candidate Will Learn

  • Develop expertise in civil site coordination, quality assurance follow-up, and construction documentation management.
  • Acquire practical knowledge in reviewing BOQs, scopes of work, quantities, and project progress.
  • Gain experience in PMO reporting, managing contractor interactions, and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
  • Obtain hands-on exposure to design coordination, project execution, handover processes, and project close-out procedures.
