About the Role
Join a leading global infrastructure consulting firm specializing in the dams and reservoirs sector. The UK water industry is undergoing substantial growth with unprecedented investments in water supply reservoirs and transfer projects. This opportunity is ideal for civil engineers eager to contribute to pivotal reservoir and dam initiatives across the UK and internationally. You will be involved in projects including safety upgrades, hydropower, new storage solutions, and resilience schemes, while benefiting from hands-on experience and expert mentorship within a flexible hybrid working framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, plan, and execute reservoir and dam projects involving embankments, spillways, outlet works, dam raising, and remediation.
- Conduct feasibility studies, option evaluations, detailed and outline designs, alongside construction support.
- Perform dam safety evaluations, hydrology assessments, flood routing analyses, drawdown studies, and dam breach modeling.
- Develop high-quality technical documentation including reports, specifications, drawings, and designs.
- Collaborate effectively with Panel Engineers, regulatory authorities, water utility companies, and contractors.
- Lead site inspections, investigate conditions, and assess asset status.
- Contribute to bid preparation, promote sustainability initiatives, and engage in ongoing professional growth.
Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering.
- Experience within reservoir engineering, river engineering, or water utilities sectors.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and deliver quality results.
