Role Overview

As the City Lead for Berlin, you will act as the general manager with sole accountability for all aspects of the city's operations including members, coaching staff, team management, and financial performance. Berlin is BEAT81's largest market and your role will demand full ownership, treating the city as your personal business.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a thriving community of top-tier coaches through active engagement, recognition, investment, and stringent standards by leading Fitness Managers.
• Recruit, nurture, and develop Studio Managers, Fitness Managers, and Front of House teams focusing on hospitality and mindset, fostering leadership and a proactive, solution-oriented culture.
• Enhance the member experience by upholding exceptional hospitality, cultivating community, and ensuring studios meet high standards beyond basic cleanliness and functionality.
• Lead Berlin’s city growth and profitability by anticipating market changes and acting decisively on insights derived from city performance metrics.
• Set strategic priorities and empower your team to execute operational goals, managing your involvement strategically and time-effectively.
• Leverage support from BEAT81’s marketing, product, technology, and finance departments through clear and justified requests, also sharing best practices across other cities.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum 6 years of leadership experience managing multiple sites and people-intensive operations in sectors such as hospitality, fitness, or retail, with ownership of commercial outcomes.
• Proven general management capabilities with a track record in building teams and owning comprehensive outcomes rather than isolated functions.
• Strong people-first leadership approach characterized by warmth, directness in feedback, and an uncompromising commitment to hospitality excellence.
• Analytical skills to monitor city performance metrics and translate them into actionable strategies.
• Deep familiarity with Berlin’s neighborhoods, communities, and ideally its fitness and coaching environments.
• Fluency in both German and English languages.
• A personal commitment to fitness, understanding of quality coaching, and class experience.
