Role Summary
This full-time, on-site position in Dubai is for a Chiller Technician specializing in air-cooled chillers. The role centers on installation, commissioning, fault-finding, and preventive as well as corrective servicing of air-cooled chillers and connected HVAC equipment. The technician will identify issues across mechanical, electrical, and control systems; repair or replace failed parts; and help ensure safe, efficient operation at all times.
Key Duties
- Carry out installation and commissioning activities for air-cooled chillers and related HVAC equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control-related problems.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to keep systems running efficiently.
- Repair or replace faulty components as needed.
- Read and apply information from technical drawings, manuals, and equipment documentation.
- Prepare service records and maintenance reports accurately.
- Work with supervisors, engineers, and clients to plan work and reduce downtime.
- Track system performance and suggest improvements where needed.
- Support energy-saving measures and operational efficiency initiatives.
- Follow all company safety requirements and applicable regulations.
Technical Requirements
- Practical expertise in installing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintaining air-cooled chillers, pumps, condensers, and similar HVAC assets.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics, control diagrams, P&IDs, equipment manuals, and specification sheets.
- Working knowledge of refrigeration circuits, compressors, refrigerants, leak testing, evacuation, charging, and performance tuning.
- Understanding of basic electrical and control systems such as sensors, contactors, relays, VFDs, and chiller control panels.
- Experience with preventive maintenance scheduling, documentation, and diagnostic instruments like manifold gauges, multimeters, and thermometers.
- Awareness of safety procedures, including lockout/tagout practices and safe refrigerant and electrical handling.
- A technical diploma or certification in Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or an equivalent practical background.
- Prior work as a Chiller Technician or HVAC Technician, ideally in air-cooled chiller environments within commercial, industrial, or district cooling settings.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate effectively in a multicultural workplace.
