Child Care Aide (Diploma Qualified)

Overview

Penrith City Council is inviting applications for the role of Child Care Aide with a Diploma qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care. Various permanent and temporary full-time, part-time, and casual positions are currently available across several childcare centres within the Penrith region. The closing date for applications is 11:59 PM on 19th July 2026.

• Full-time Temporary (Rotational) until 23 December 2026
• Full-time Permanent role at Kingswood
• Full-time Temporary at Werrington until 27 January 2027
• Permanent Part-time (2 days per week) at Kingswood
• Casual roles across the Children Services team

Compensation

The starting pay rate ranges between $35.24 and $40.80 per hour, plus 12% superannuation and Worker Retention percentage. Exact remuneration will correlate to the candidate's qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with educational leaders to coordinate activities and programs fostering a stimulating learning environment for children aged 0 to 12 years
• Assist in executing age-appropriate programming designed to support children’s development
• Build and sustain meaningful relationships with children, their families, and the wider community
• Maintain accurate records concerning attendance, behavior, and developmental progress of children

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• Genuine enthusiasm and proven experience in nurturing young children in a safe and engaging environment
• Diploma or equivalent qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care
• Valid Working With Children Check (WWC)
• Current First Aid Certificate, including Asthma, Anaphylaxis, and CPR (HLTAID004 / HLTA012)
• Capacity to follow safeguarding protocols rigorously
• Ability to collaborate effectively as a team member and uphold organizational values
• Capability to manage workload efficiently under pressure and prioritize tasks
• Firm commitment to Child Safe Standards and compliance with the National Quality Framework
• Availability to work scheduled shifts between 6:00 am and 6:30 pm, Monday through Friday
