Overview

This role leads the formulation, implementation, and continual refinement of vehicle technical inspection standards and procedures across all categories of vehicles. It ensures adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory guidelines. The position emphasizes integrity and quality in inspection processes through strategic leadership, data utilization, and incorporation of new technologies such as electric, hybrid, and autonomous vehicles. This function directly supports the mission to enhance road safety, technological innovation, and operational proficiency in vehicle licensing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct the creation and periodic updating of inspection policies, standards, and legal frameworks for all vehicle types, ensuring harmony with national legislation and global best practices.
  • Lead technical assessments, benchmarking, and feasibility studies to expand and modernize inspection services, including readiness for smart and alternative energy vehicles.
  • Manage the adoption of cutting-edge monitoring technologies like AI, IoT, and machine learning to enable remote monitoring, predictive maintenance, and accuracy enhancement.
  • Engage in strategic planning regarding inspection centers’ capacity, locations, and equipment upgrades based on demand and demographic data.
  • Advise senior management on regulatory updates, system improvements, and innovative projects related to vehicle inspection.
  • Oversee calibration, maintenance, and compliance of inspection equipment across authorized centers, ensuring timely audits and adherence to standards.
  • Perform recurring audits and inspections at vehicle inspection facilities to validate compliance with safety and environmental policies.
  • Evaluate and approve specifications for inspection equipment, suppliers, and infrastructure to ensure consistent quality and scalability.
  • Analyze inspection data to detect irregularities and initiate corrective measures to uphold system integrity and public confidence.
  • Coordinate inspections alongside Dubai Police and other authorities to verify vehicle safety, dimensional conformity, axle loads, and driver compliance.
  • Develop and enforce uniform technical procedures, classification schemes, and protocols for all vehicle categories, including new technologies.
  • Initiate enhancements to inspection workflows, tools, and digital platforms aimed at improving efficiency, shortening inspection durations, and increasing first-time pass rates.
  • Create a consolidated technical inspection specification manual and digital archive to standardize practices across centers.
  • Assist in connecting inspection data with the Smart Supervision Center and vehicle licensing systems for real-time monitoring and analysis.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops to ensure inspection center personnel maintain high standards and embrace continuous improvement.
  • Primarily operating from office premises with frequent field visits to inspection centers, service providers, and partner sites for audits and validation activities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required.
  • At least eight years of relevant professional experience in vehicle inspection or related fields.
