Job Overview
The Chief Risk Officer (CRO) is a vital member of the Executive Committee at First National Bank GH, working closely with the CEO, Board, and business leaders to drive sustainable growth through rigorous risk management practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business units to foster sustainable growth within predefined risk appetite limits.
- Oversee the Bank’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework, addressing all significant risk categories.
- Maintain independent supervision of Credit, Operational, Market, Liquidity, Financial Crime, and Conduct Risks.
- Provide strategic advice to the Executive Committee and Board concerning emerging and strategic risks.
- Promote a strong risk culture emphasizing accountability, resilience, and sound decision-making.
- Enhance regulatory relationships ensuring compliance with FirstRand Group and the Bank of Ghana requirements.
- Lead and develop a high-performing risk team delivering insight, constructive challenge, and value to the business.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated extensive leadership experience at an executive level within banking or financial services sectors.
- Deep expertise in enterprise risk management and governance frameworks.
- Strong commercial insight to balance growth initiatives, innovation, and prudent risk management.
- Ability to influence a wide range of stakeholders including executives, board members, and regulatory bodies.
- A collaborative leadership approach with commitment to talent development and business enablement.
