Job description
Role overview
An expanding Irish technology-enabled services business, backed by private equity, is looking for a senior executive to lead its next stage of evolution. The organisation is shifting toward a product-first, technology-led model and needs a CPTO to guide that transition.
This is a broader leadership position than a conventional CTO role. The successful person will own Product, Technology, and Engineering, and will help drive transformation through modern software, automation, AI, and scalable product development. In partnership with the CEO, Board, and executive team, the CPTO will set the technology direction, improve delivery, speed up product releases, and ensure technology spend supports commercial goals.
Key responsibilities
- Shape and deliver the company’s overall product and technology strategy.
- Lead, grow, and align the Product, Engineering, and Technology functions.
- Champion transformation initiatives, stronger operational performance, and consistent delivery quality.
- Introduce a modern product operating model and improve collaboration between Product, Engineering, and Operations.
- Use automation and AI to enhance customer experience and improve business outcomes.
- Prepare and present strategic proposals and investment cases to senior leadership and the Board.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate will bring deep leadership experience across technology, engineering, and product, along with a track record of operating in fast-moving startup or scale-up settings. Experience in private equity-backed environments is important, and sector exposure to HealthTech, MedTech, FinTech, B2B SaaS, InsurTech, or technology-enabled services is highly relevant.
Success in this role will come from a proven ability to lead transformation, scale teams, and deliver measurable commercial impact. The person should also be a strong collaborator with excellent stakeholder management skills and the confidence to influence at Board level.
Additional information
This role is based in Dublin and is described as hybrid in the source text. It offers the opportunity to join a growing Irish business, lead a major product and technology transformation, and have a direct impact on the company’s future direction.
