About the Role
A partner company based in the United Kingdom is seeking a visionary Chief Product Officer to spearhead product innovation and expansion in a fast-growing consumer health and wellness sector. Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction and implement the long-term product vision, converting innovation initiatives into commercial success and sustained growth.
- Lead, mentor, and grow diverse teams across product development, R&D, scientific affairs, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance.
- Develop and deliver an innovation roadmap focusing on emerging categories, novel ingredients, new technologies, and evolving consumer trends.
- Create and enhance scalable processes that expedite product development and increase organizational efficiency.
- Supervise the creation of scientifically validated, compliant, and distinct product formulations.
- Ensure high standards of quality, consistent performance, operational excellence, and supply chain resilience throughout the product lifecycle.
- Collaborate closely with commercial, marketing, and operations units to craft and execute effective go-to-market plans maximizing business outcomes.
- Foster a culture centered on accountability, excellence, and ongoing improvement within all product-related areas.
- Utilize emerging technologies and AI-enabled methods to accelerate innovation, improve formulation quality, and decrease time to market.
Required Qualifications
- Over 15 years of progressive leadership experience within product, R&D, or innovation roles in consumer goods, health, nutrition, or related industries.
- At least 5 years heading sizeable product or R&D teams in sectors such as supplements, functional foods, or consumer packaged goods.
- Proven history of successfully taking consumer products from ideation to market launch and scale-up.
- In-depth knowledge of formulation science, ingredient procurement, regulatory affairs, and quality management.
- Strong ability to build and lead cross-functional teams involving product, scientific research, quality control, and development.
- Excellent business acumen with a strong alignment of product strategies to growth goals, profitability, and brand positioning.
- Demonstrated skill in developing scalable systems and frameworks that create lasting organizational impact.
- Outstanding leadership qualities, communication skills, and stakeholder engagement experience in fast-moving, high-growth settings.
- Entrepreneurial approach balancing innovative initiatives, operational discipline, and business realities.
- Interest and experience in applying AI and new technologies to augment product development and operational productivity.
