Chief Operating Officer - Manufacturing & Operations

About the Opportunity

A fast-growing company in modular housing and manufacturing is looking for a Chief Operating Officer to lead the buildout and expansion of its manufacturing platform. The business has been scaling quickly over the past several years and is now entering a major growth phase centered on vertical integration, stronger operations, and long-term scalability. In this role, you will help create the structure, teams, and systems needed to support continued growth.

The COO will report directly to the CEO and act as a core member of the executive team, helping influence the company’s future direction.

Role Overview

This is a hands-on executive opportunity for an experienced operations leader who wants to create and grow a manufacturing organization from the ground up. The company currently relies on outsourced production and is working toward bringing manufacturing in-house. You will lead that shift while overseeing manufacturing strategy, plant and facility planning, operational processes, supply chain coordination, and team development.

The position is well suited to someone who enjoys building systems, solving complex operational problems, and designing scalable infrastructure in a high-growth setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Set and carry out the company’s manufacturing and operations strategy
• Lead the move from outsourced production to in-house manufacturing
• Assess, plan, and establish future production facilities
• Recruit, develop, and manage manufacturing, operations, and supply chain teams
• Design repeatable processes, operating systems, and performance measures
• Improve efficiency, quality standards, and production output
• Work with executive leadership on strategic planning and growth initiatives
• Build the organizational structure and operational backbone required for expansion
• Encourage a culture focused on accountability, teamwork, and ongoing improvement

Qualifications

The ideal candidate brings deep leadership experience in manufacturing, operations, industrial production, or supply chain management, along with a track record of scaling production businesses and leading sizable teams. This role calls for strong strategic, operational, and financial judgment, plus the ability to create systems, teams, and processes in a fast-moving growth environment.

Exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational abilities are essential, along with comfort working in entrepreneurial environments where priorities can change quickly.

Experience from related industries such as RV manufacturing, industrialized construction, or building products may also be taken into consideration.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base pay: $300,000–$400,000+
