Job description
Company Overview
Established in 1984, Emirates Western Oil Well Drilling & Maintenance Co. L.L.C. has played a vital role in supporting the growth of the UAE's oil sector, a key contributor to the national economy. Founded with technical collaboration from Western Company of the USA and owned by UAE national Mr. Mohammed A. Al Otaiba, the company initially serviced Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations with cementing, stimulation, and downhole tools. It has since expanded its offerings to both onshore and offshore services, specializing in enhanced oil recovery and stimulation techniques such as foam diverting through specialized vessels. The firm operates a technical engineering department focused on designing precise stimulation programs for oil, gas, and injector wells, executed by skilled personnel with advanced equipment.
Role Responsibilities
The Chief Officer position is a full-time leadership role based on-site in the Abu Dhabi Emirate. This individual will supervise daily operational activities across drilling, maintenance, and stimulation sectors, prioritizing safety, efficiency, and compliance with all industry and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include leading cross-departmental teams, coordinating closely with engineering, operational units, and client representatives, and ensuring the timely and budget-conscious execution of project plans and service agreements. Additional duties encompass strategic priority setting, monitoring performance metrics, risk management, and fostering continuous service and technical improvements. This role also entails cultivating robust relationships with local and global oil companies, representing the company at senior meetings, and mentoring managers and supervisors to uphold a strong safety culture and high operational standards.
Qualification Requirements
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing diverse operational teams in the energy or oil and gas fields.
- Extensive knowledge in drilling, completion, stimulation, and enhanced oil recovery processes in both onshore and offshore contexts.
- Expertise in operational planning, project management including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Familiarity with HSE standards, risk management, and relevant regulatory protocols for oilfield services.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities to effectively engage with clients and internal teams.
- Academic credentials such as a bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or another related technical discipline; advanced degrees offer an added advantage.
- Previous experience in senior leadership roles within oilfield services or comparable sectors, ideally in the GCC or international markets.
- Capability to work onsite in Abu Dhabi and to adapt within a dynamic operational setting.
