Role Overview
The Chief of Staff will serve as a key strategic partner to senior leadership and function as the binding force across the executive team. This role requires balancing high-level strategic thinking with hands-on execution, championing key initiatives, enhancing operational workflows, and ensuring leadership alignment focused on critical performance indicators.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation and follow-through of company OKRs and quarterly goals, converting broad strategy into concrete action plans for executives.
- Support the CEO by managing information flow, preparing board meeting materials, and prioritizing high-impact activities for the CEO’s attention.
- Analyze cross-departmental processes (including Product, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing) to identify inefficiencies and devise process improvements to boost effectiveness.
- Collaborate with department leads to develop dashboards and monitor key performance indicators, providing insights grounded in data to guide decisions.
- Oversee cross-functional initiatives like fundraising preparation, merger and acquisition reviews, and new market exploration that transcend traditional departmental boundaries.
- Maintain clear and effective communication channels throughout the company, fostering a unified executive team culture.
Candidate Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years in demanding, high-achievement environments such as consulting, investment banking, venture capital, or fast-growth startups.
- Adaptability for a startup atmosphere: able to maneuver through uncertainty, tackling both strategic and tactical tasks.
- Exceptional analytical abilities with the skill to translate complex information into concise, accessible narratives.
- A strong orientation towards execution: proactive in ownership and capable of driving tasks to completion independently.
- High emotional intelligence, capable of influencing without direct authority and managing delicate situations diplomatically.
- Familiar with current productivity software such as Notion, Slack, Airtable, and related tools.
- Residency in or willingness to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area is required.
