Job description
Role overview
This is a senior, high-trust position supporting the CEO of a private equity-backed hospitality group with operations across the UK. The business is partway through a turnaround and is actively working on technology, commercial strategy, and its operating model. With a lean central team and a newly opened headquarters in Central London, the company is also looking at possible M&A opportunities to expand its scale.
The Chief of Staff acts as the CEO’s close partner, helping convert leadership priorities into coordinated execution across the organisation. The role sits at the centre of the business, working closely with the CEO, ExCo, and the private equity shareholder. While it is not a formal ExCo seat, the position attends board and executive discussions and reports directly to the CEO.
Working pattern
This is a permanent role based in Central London with an on-site presence required four days per week.
Key responsibilities
- Set the rhythm for executive meetings, including planning agendas and ensuring actions are followed through.
- Prepare board and shareholder materials, and oversee the governance of those documents and briefings.
- Turn strategic priorities into clear, measurable initiatives and help clear obstacles that slow delivery.
- Coordinate the private equity relationship, including governance, reporting, and communication.
- Develop strong working relationships with the executive team and wider business leaders.
- Move comfortably between strategic work and practical administrative support when needed.
Candidate profile
- A background in strategy, transformation, or Chief of Staff work is essential; consulting experience is advantageous.
- Experience in multi-site, consumer-facing businesses is important, with hospitality or hotel exposure considered a strong plus.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and operate credibly at leadership level.
- Comfort working in fast-moving, uncertain environments.
- Experience with private equity is beneficial.
