Job description
About the Role
No Saint is looking for a Chief of Staff focused on Business Operations & Strategy to help steer a fast-growing consumer products business. The company develops next-generation nicotine products with an emphasis on innovation, product quality, and responsible commercialization. As the business expands into new markets, this role sits between leadership priorities and execution, making sure the organization moves quickly without losing control.
The position reports to the COO and is based in Montréal, QC as the preferred location, with Canada/US hybrid or remote arrangements possible for the right person. This is a high-ownership role for someone who is energized by ambiguity, can handle multiple complex workstreams, and is comfortable operating in an environment where priorities change quickly.
This is not an administrative support role. It is designed for someone who can think strategically, challenge assumptions, and translate leadership direction into real execution across the business.
What You Will Do
You will act as the operating layer between leadership decisions and actual delivery. Your job is to identify what should move, what should wait, and who should own each initiative. You will work closely with the Product Manager, who owns technical and product execution, while you manage the organizational and operational side required to keep momentum.
Commercialization and Expansion
- Convert market-entry plans into clear owners, dependencies, timelines, and launch plans that account for logistics, distribution, customs, inventory, and other operational requirements.
- Build reusable templates and operating patterns so future market launches are faster and more consistent.
Compliance and Market Readiness
- Make sure every launch includes the relevant approval and compliance requirements from the start.
- Keep regulatory and compliance constraints visible in planning, even when you are not the subject-matter expert in every framework.
Corporate Structure and Operating Model
- Help keep the company’s legal entities and structure aligned with tax, financing, operations, and liability needs.
- Support leadership in making structural decisions that match the direction of the business rather than working in isolation.
Reporting, Dashboards, and Systems
- Create dashboards that turn scattered product, commercial, operational, and financial data into clear insights for leadership.
- Identify risks or stalled work early and make them visible to decision-makers.
- Support the ERP and reporting implementation effort.
Fundraising and Board Support
- Prepare diligence materials and organize the data room.
- Manage investor follow-up and support board materials so leadership is ready for tough questions.
What We’re Looking For
We need a strong operator rather than a coordinator. The right person is capable of setting priorities, defending them, and pushing the organization toward the most important work. This role suits someone who has already handled serious operational complexity and is comfortable learning new business areas quickly.
- You bring at least 7 years of experience in operations or a Chief of Staff role at a company that was actively scaling or changing.
- You have worked in complex environments involving multiple markets or disciplines, especially where work becomes more difficult across borders.
- You have experience working alongside product and technical teams and can participate credibly in those discussions.
- You can quickly become effective in unfamiliar areas such as customs, fundraising, ERP, compliance, or AI.
- You prefer lean, practical process over unnecessary bureaucracy.
- You are fluent with modern operational tools such as ERP systems like Odoo or similar platforms, BI and dashboard tools, a project management tool such as Asana, ClickUp, or Notion, and AI tools like Claude or ChatGPT.
- You are comfortable enabling execution across teams without needing to personally own every tactical task.
Compensation
The package includes base compensation plus meaningful equity.
How to Apply
Applicants should submit a CV only, without a cover letter, along with the following three items:
- Describe one situation where something was failing when you joined and was resolved by the time you left. Explain what was broken, what you did, and how you knew the fix worked. Keep it to two paragraphs.
- Share one initiative you intentionally stopped or delayed despite resistance, and explain why that decision was correct. This is the most important prompt for the employer.
- Provide the dashboard, system, or process you are most proud of building. A screenshot or one short paragraph is enough, especially if it shows how you made a messy business easier to understand.
Additional Information
The company emphasizes quick decision-making, ownership, and the ability to operate without a rigid org chart. Candidates who prefer clearly defined scope, heavy process, or administrative-style work are unlikely to be a fit.
