About SPLY Capital
SPLY Capital is a venture capital firm focused on investing in pioneering companies across AI infrastructure, advanced manufacturing, robotics, energy, defense, space, and enterprise software. The firm emphasizes relationships and partners with visionary founders early on to generate long-term value for both investors and portfolio companies.
Role Overview
The Chief of Staff & Apprentice position offers a unique mentorship opportunity aimed at accelerating institutional knowledge under direct guidance from the Managing Partners. This role provides comprehensive exposure to all facets of running a global venture capital operation including fundraising, deal sourcing, portfolio oversight, investor relations, marketing, operations, and AI-driven workflow innovation.
This position transcends routine administrative support by entrusting substantial responsibility across investments, marketing initiatives, operational tasks, and AI workflow development. It is designed to be a pivotal career foundation for those aspiring to become founders, venture capitalists, or operational leaders.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage calendar and scheduling for Managing Partners.
- Develop marketing content such as LinkedIn posts, email campaigns, portfolio communications, and fundraising presentations.
- Collaborate with portfolio companies and investment team on strategic announcements.
- Lead third-party fund administration processes and onboarding of new limited partners (LPs), providing guidance through the external administration system.
- Serve as a point of contact for LP inquiries and issues.
- Oversee company-wide CRM integration and deployment, implementing automation for efficient data updates.
- Design and build AI-powered workflows and internal operating systems to enhance firm productivity.
Candidate Profile
We prioritize intellectual curiosity, resourcefulness, and learning drive over formal experience. Ideal candidates are highly organized, detail-focused, agile in dynamic environments, excellent communicators, proactive thinkers who anticipate needs, poised under pressure, enthusiastic about startups, venture capital, AI, and technology, and trustworthy with confidential matters.
Preferred Background
- Experience in marketing, brand management, or content creation.
- Familiarity with AI automation workflows or financial analysis.
- Knowledge of startup or business operations and project management.
- Exposure to venture capital, private equity, investment banking, or consulting fields.
