Job description

About BJAK

BJAK was founded with the idea that people should have simpler, smarter ways to manage, save, and grow their money. The company began in 2019 and first built a mobile-first insurance platform that made online insurance access possible for millions across the region. It is now the leading insurance platform in Southeast Asia.

The business is also broadening its financial offering to cover spending, saving, investing, currency exchange, travel, and related services. Its goal is to help people get more value from their money every day.

The team is international, with more than 20 nationalities represented across office-based and remote staff. BJAK is looking for ambitious people who are energized by building new products, care more about impact than clock-watching, and want to help reshape financial tools for a much wider audience.

The Role

BJAK is hiring a Chief of Staff to support the expansion of its AI Neobank app across products, markets, and internal teams. This is a senior execution-focused position for someone who can keep leadership aligned, establish a strong operating rhythm, remove blockers, and convert strategy into concrete results.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead execution of key priorities for the AI Neobank app.
  • Create and maintain the operating cadence, including OKRs, leadership reporting, decision logs, and accountability tracking.
  • Coordinate large cross-functional efforts spanning product, engineering, licensing, market expansion, partnerships, finance, and operations.
  • Draft clear decision memos, board and leadership presentations, execution roadmaps, and progress reviews.
  • Spot risks, gaps, and dependencies early so they do not become major obstacles.
  • Support leadership in making informed trade-offs on talent, capital, product direction, and market focus.
  • Take ownership of special initiatives that require senior-level judgement and cross-team authority.

What We Are Looking For

  • A strong operator with a track record of driving strategic work across multiple teams.
  • Excellent judgement, communication, prioritization, and follow-through.
  • Comfort working with founders, CEOs, leadership teams, and senior external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively amid ambiguity and limited direction.
  • Capability to move between strategic thinking and detailed execution without losing quality.
  • Strong business writing, analytical thinking, and problem-solving ability.
  • Background in startups, consulting, strategy, operations, fintech, financial services, or regional expansion is advantageous.

What Success Looks Like

  • The role helps the company move faster and with greater clarity.
  • Teams are challenged, aligned, and unblocked without unnecessary process.
  • The role stays grounded in facts, numbers, owners, and deadlines.
  • Strategic thinking is paired with hands-on delivery.
  • The person brings low ego, strong ownership, and a clear bias toward action.

Not a Fit For

  • People looking for a purely advisory position.
  • Applicants who struggle with pressure, uncertainty, or senior-level accountability.
  • Those who build process without improving execution.
  • People who avoid operational detail.
  • Anyone who values status more than ownership.

Location

This is a remote role, but applicants must already be based in Singapore. The company is hiring specifically for the Singapore market.

Language

English is the primary working language across global teams, so strong English communication is essential.

Interview Process

The hiring process is designed to move quickly:

  • Online assessment or practical assignment
  • Technical interview
  • Final round with the CEO

For strong candidates, BJAK aims to complete the process and extend an offer within one week from the start of interviews. Candidates who finish assessments quickly will be given priority.

Leave it if you'd like a reply — we won't use it for anything else.
