Job description

Role overview

This is a 12-month fixed-term Chief of Staff appointment based in London. The position supports the Founder, Chair, Chief Creative Officer and President by translating her direction into clear action across the business. The aim is to help prioritise the most important strategic work, improve the quality of meetings and materials, follow through on actions, and strengthen coordination across teams.

About the company

Charlotte Tilbury Beauty was established in 2013 by British makeup artist and beauty entrepreneur Charlotte Tilbury MBE. Since launch, the brand has grown quickly and has become a major global name in beauty, with a presence across 50 markets and a workforce of more than 2,300 people worldwide. The business is known for its innovation, strong retail and product momentum, and a culture built around challenge, collaboration, bold thinking and shared success.

What you will do

In this role, you will act as a key partner to the Founder, helping her stay focused on the highest-priority commercial, strategic and organisational topics. You will prepare concise briefings, ensure decisions are supported by the right context and materials, and keep key actions moving.

You will also represent the Founder in meetings when needed, capture outcomes accurately, and make sure commitments are not lost between discussion and delivery. A large part of the role involves coordinating with leadership teams, external stakeholders and the Founder’s Executive Assistant team to keep communication, scheduling and execution tightly aligned.

The role also includes support for board, investor and market-facing materials, review of performance and financial reporting, assistance with long-term planning cycles, and ownership of strategic ad hoc projects and presentations.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage the Founder’s day-to-day operating cadence, including short briefing updates on priorities, decisions needed, risks and escalation points.
  • Stay ahead of upcoming choices and ensure the Founder receives the right background, options and recommendations in time.
  • Act as a strategic sounding board on commercial, organisational and business planning topics.
  • Work with the Founder and CEO to communicate strategic direction clearly to the leadership team and maintain a practical roadmap.
  • Attend internal and external meetings with the Founder, record decisions and actions, and drive follow-up through to completion.
  • Join senior meetings on the Founder’s behalf when required, accurately reflecting her viewpoint and reporting back with precision.
  • Maintain visibility over Founder-level commitments so intentions are converted into delivery.
  • Help prepare board, investor and market presentations with a strong commercial story and solid financial and data support.
  • Review trading updates, dashboards and financial outputs to draw out the main implications for the Founder.
  • Support annual and longer-range strategic planning, ensuring ambition, resources and execution stay aligned.
  • Coordinate with business leaders and external clients to advance priority initiatives and maintain accountability.
  • Handle critical issues collaboratively with relevant stakeholders to help resolve them.
  • Review presentations and proposals awaiting Founder approval and arrange the necessary stakeholder briefing meetings.
  • Work closely with the Founder’s EA team to prioritise time and manage the schedule effectively.
  • Lead or support strategic projects, briefings and presentations as needed.

What we are looking for

We are seeking a highly capable operator with experience supporting a founder or senior executive in a fast-paced, high-growth, global environment. The right person will combine strong commercial judgement with discretion, resilience and the ability to stay calm under pressure.

You should be comfortable working at Founder or C-suite level, able to influence across senior stakeholders, and trusted to handle confidential matters with care. The role suits someone who works with low ego, high accountability and a natural habit of thinking several steps ahead.

Candidate profile

  • Background in a fast-growing business, ideally with direct experience supporting a founder.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially across departments.
  • Track record of leading and planning cross-functional projects.
  • Excellent prioritisation skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks while staying detail-focused and on deadline.
  • Comfort with uncertainty, change and fast-moving environments.
  • Strong relationship-building, influencing and networking ability across all levels.
  • Proven discretion and experience managing sensitive information and confidential initiatives.
  • Confidence operating with senior leaders and representing a founder’s perspective credibly.
  • Solid understanding of commercial performance, P&L, financial results and operational trade-offs.
  • Experience in high-pace, high-growth organisations where ambiguity is part of the job.
  • A calm, dependable operator who can take ownership and support from behind the scenes while making a major impact.

Why join

  • Join a mission-led, fast-growing company with a strong focus on empowerment and impact.
  • Work in a hybrid environment with flexibility in how you structure your work.
  • Receive 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays and an extra day off for your birthday.
  • Access inclusive parental leave for parents and carers.
  • Benefit from pension and life assurance cover.
  • Make use of wellness and social benefits such as Medicash, employee assistance support and regular colleague connections.
  • Enjoy dog-friendly days and spaces at work.
  • Receive generous product discount and gifting.
