Job description

Company Overview

Astrocade is pioneering artificial intelligence technologies focused on creating super-intelligent interactive worlds through an innovative consumer platform. Unlike typical models that generate text, reason, or produce video, Astrocade is developing immersive worlds where users can actively engage and influence their environment. This approach represents a critical step towards Artificial Super Intelligence (ASI) and aims to define the next major consumer platform. The company boasts a rapidly growing social user-generated content (UGC) platform, supported by over 30 million users since launch. Users craft interactive experiences through natural language, including games, evolving companions, adaptive learning tools, and social environments built collaboratively.

Backed by prestigious investors and led by industry veterans from Google Research, Meta, FAIR, Character.ai, and Stanford, Astrocade combines frontier research with a consumer product that continually improves through real user interactions. The blend of live consumer data and advanced AI research underpins their unique position in the AI landscape.

Role Summary

The Chief of Staff will be a pivotal partner to the founding team, amplifying their capacity to scale the company's fast-growing product and maintain operational excellence. This role entails owning outcomes across growth initiatives, strategy development, and internal operations management, often acting as the initial lead on critical challenges until successfully resolved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maximize founder productivity by managing their highest-impact projects and day-to-day operational needs to keep their focus on mission-critical activities like investor relations and strategic partnerships.
  • Develop and oversee company-wide operating rhythms, including planning processes, goal and KPI monitoring, efficient internal communications, and facilitating cross-team collaboration.
  • Lead on high-priority, yet unassigned projects such as partnership negotiations, product launches, market analyses, or urgent operational issues until they reach completion.

Candidate Profile

  • A seasoned professional with 5 to 10 years of experience in fast-paced technology environments, particularly in roles such as Chief of Staff, founding team member, early-stage startup operator, business operations leadership, management consulting, or strategic positions with proven execution records.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative in building audiences, launching products, or executing growth-driving partnerships firsthand.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, capable of clarifying complex or ambiguous situations into precise decisions and compelling narratives.
  • High energy and resilience, well-suited to a dynamic startup environment with intense work demands and rapid pacing.
  • A proactive and resourceful mindset, willing to dive into any task no matter the size or complexity.
  • Must be based in the Bay Area and able to work onsite at the Palo Alto headquarters.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with consumer-facing, gaming, or creator-economy products, including growth and marketing strategies.
  • Track record managing partnerships, launches, or growth initiatives at scale on consumer platforms.
  • Comfort with data-driven decision-making and performance metrics.
  • Proven ability to build internal systems for planning, KPIs, and communications in early-stage companies.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive base salary in the range of $150,000 to $200,000, supplemented by meaningful equity and performance bonuses.
  • Comprehensive employer-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance covering employees and eligible dependents.
  • Flexible paid time off policy with unlimited sick leave.
  • A monthly $650 budget dedicated to AI tools to enhance productivity.
  • A $500 monthly lifestyle benefit for wellness, fitness, meals, and household services.
  • A $200 monthly fund for personal hobbies, travel, entertainment, and related activities.
  • Generous parental leave with up to 16 weeks paid for birth parents and 12 weeks for non-birth parents, plus a $1,500 monthly childcare stipend.
  • Workspace setup allowance of $2,000 and a $200 monthly commuter benefit.
  • Daily provided meals on office days and frequent team events and offsite gatherings.
  • 401(k) retirement plan access through Human Interest.
