Role Overview

The organization is hiring a Chief of Development to lead strategic expansion efforts, uncover fresh business opportunities, and contribute to Arival Bank’s long-term growth across international markets. This position reports into executive leadership and helps influence the company’s future direction.
The ideal candidate is a commercially minded leader with a strong strategic outlook, excellent relationship-building ability, and solid familiarity with the banking and fintech landscape. The role calls for an entrepreneurial approach focused on turning opportunities into scalable business outcomes.
Compensation
The base salary for this role is USD 130,000 to USD 150,000, plus a performance-based bonus.
Responsibilities
- Design and roll out growth initiatives that support the company’s long-term priorities.
- Spot promising customer groups, market openings, and additional revenue opportunities.
- Drive expansion into new regions and international jurisdictions.
- Create and maintain strategic relationships with banks, fintech firms, payment providers, and other ecosystem partners.
- Assess new business models, commercial partnerships, and broader growth options.
- Carry out market and competitor research to identify trends and emerging opportunities.
- Partner closely with Product, Sales, Banking Partnerships, Compliance, and Operations teams to advance growth plans.
- Own major strategic projects from initial concept through delivery.
- Support negotiations and partnership conversations with important stakeholders.
- Develop business cases, growth projections, and strategic recommendations for senior leadership.
- Represent the company at conferences, networking events, and other strategic engagements.
- Encourage cross-functional alignment so growth initiatives are implemented successfully.
Required Qualifications
- At least 7 years of experience in business development, corporate development, strategic partnerships, consulting, banking, fintech, or financial services.
- A demonstrated history of delivering growth and executing strategic initiatives.
- Good understanding of banking, payments, fintech, and broader financial services ecosystems.
- Experience building and managing relationships at a senior level.
- Strong commercial judgment along with analytical and strategic thinking ability.
- Solid negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Comfort working with executive teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Ability to handle several complex projects at the same time.
- Strong communication and presentation capabilities.
- Fluent spoken and written English.
Preferred Profile
- Background in digital banking, payments, embedded finance, or cross-border financial services is an advantage.
- A well-established network in the global fintech and banking space is preferred.
- Experience supporting expansion into international markets is useful.
- Experience in fast-growing startups, scale-ups, or expanding financial institutions is desirable.
- Prior exposure to regulated environments and licensed financial organizations is a plus.
- Additional language skills are beneficial.
