Role Overview

The Chief Medical Scientist will oversee the comprehensive Clinical Chemistry and Diagnostic Endocrinology Laboratory services at Mater Misericordiae University Hospital. The position emphasizes patient-centered care and upholds high standards of service quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and manage the operations of the Clinical Chemistry/Endocrinology Laboratory, ensuring alignment with hospital commitments to quality and patient care.
• Hold operational responsibility for the Clinical Chemistry/Endocrinology lab within the Pathology Medicine division.
• Recruit and develop a team of qualified professionals while fostering a collaborative and positive workplace culture.
• Develop and implement best practice operational procedures that enhance efficient resource utilization.
• Collaborate with the Laboratory Manager, Consultant Head of Department, and related departments to determine cost structures for laboratory services delivered to other hospital divisions and clinical units.
• Establish a patient-focused quality management system that monitors, evaluates, and audits performance and client satisfaction metrics.
