Role Summary
This is a full-time remote position for a Chief Investment Officer. The person in this role will direct the firm’s overall investment strategy, asset allocation, and portfolio construction across real estate securities and related asset classes. The job includes guiding investment research, assessing market movements, defining risk limits, and making capital deployment decisions that support the fund’s objectives. The CIO will also manage and coach investment staff, partner with senior leaders on strategic direction, and communicate portfolio results and market outlooks to stakeholders. In addition, the role is responsible for maintaining regulatory compliance, improving investment processes, and strengthening portfolio performance and risk-adjusted returns.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in investment strategy and execution, with evidence of building and applying data-driven approaches successfully. A solid foundation in investment management and portfolio management is needed, including experience with diversified institutional portfolios. Deep financial knowledge is important, especially in real estate securities or similar asset classes, along with the ability to analyze complex financial information. The role also calls for proven leadership capability, including team management, mentoring, and effective collaboration with executive stakeholders. Strong analytical, quantitative, and decision-making skills are essential, as are excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Prior senior-level experience with an asset manager, hedge fund, or comparable institution is expected, and experience in real estate securities is a plus. An advanced degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline is preferred, and CFA or CAIA credentials are advantageous. The role requires consistent effectiveness in a remote setting, with strong accountability, responsiveness, and professional standards.
