About Lei A While Research Center
Lei A While Research Center is a growing academic infrastructure initiative focusing on research, publishing, archiving, and the dissemination of public knowledge. Dedicated to rigorous inquiry, responsible publishing, and fostering open academic dialogue, the Center operates mainly through digital and distance platforms while planning physical facilities such as a Library-Amphitheater and a Graduate Institute over time. Its internal procedures emphasize compliance with standards including ISSN registration, Crossref membership, a pursuit of COPE membership, and eventual formal accreditation of its Graduate Institute.
Role Overview
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO), working fully remotely, manages the financial operations of the Center. Responsibilities include leading financial planning and forecasting, budget management, cash flow oversight, and formulating financial strategies aligned with the Center's long-term academic and infrastructural goals. The CFO supervises financial statement preparation and analysis, ensures accurate and timely financial reporting, and implements internal controls while maintaining regulatory compliance. Collaboration with executive leadership and project teams is essential for evaluating funding approaches, supporting grant and donor reporting, and providing clear financial analyses to aid strategic choices. The CFO also develops scalable financial procedures to support the Center's growth, digital activities, and future accreditation objectives.

- Proven experience leading finance in startups, academic, nonprofit, or research organizations is highly preferred.
- Ability to function effectively in a remote work setup and communicate complex financial information across diverse teams.
- Advanced degree in finance, accounting, business, or related fields; professional certifications like CPA or CFA are advantageous.
- Financial commitment to invest at least $100,000 into the Center in exchange for future equity.
