Job description
Company Overview
Triskele Labs is a premier provider of sovereign Australian cybersecurity services, poised to enter a new growth phase. To support this, the company seeks to appoint its first full-time Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Company Secretary to transform and lead finance, governance, and legal operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Take comprehensive ownership of the financial strategy, planning, control, reporting, treasury, taxation, audit, and compliance functions.
- Fulfill Company Secretary duties including board governance, statutory compliance, minute-taking, maintaining registers, and meeting Australian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC) obligations.
- Oversee the legal function by partnering with external counsel in managing contracts, commercial agreements, employment, and intellectual property matters.
- Develop the financial model from scratch, transition business metrics from billing-based to net revenue, and manage gross margin forecasting, operational expenditure discipline, and EBITDA protection.
- Create and implement executive-level reporting frameworks for the board, management, lenders, and quarterly business reviews, innovating solutions where none currently exist.
- Incorporate artificial intelligence (AI) and large language models (LLM) into financial modeling, forecasting, reporting, and workflow processes as default standards, emphasizing automation.
- Design and build the finance team structure; recruit a permanent Financial Controller and lead both onshore and offshore finance personnel shaped under your leadership.
- Collaborate commercially with the CEO and executive team on pricing strategies, deal structuring, capital allocation, and staffing decisions.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Certified Accountant qualifications such as CA, CPA, or their equivalent.
- Credentials for Company Secretary, or membership with the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) or Governance Institute, with the intent to assume the secretary role.
- Extensive senior finance leadership experience within growing organizations, preferably in professional services, technology, or cybersecurity sectors.
- Proven track record of creating or rebuilding finance functions rather than maintaining existing ones.
- Strong commercial acumen with history of working closely with founders, CEOs, and executive leadership teams.
- Comprehensive experience across strategic financial planning & analysis, controllership, treasury, tax, audit, and lender relations.
- Capability to oversee legal operations via effective collaboration with external legal counsel.
- Fluency and practical experience using AI and LLM technologies to enhance finance functions with automation and innovation.
- Confident and succinct communicator with the ability to respectfully challenge executive decisions when necessary.
- Motivated by transformative challenges, viewing a scaling, founder-led cybersecurity enterprise as an opportunity for innovative leadership heading into fiscal year 2027.
Benefits and Work Environment
- Executive team membership from the outset with direct involvement in strategic decision-making.
- A transformative mandate, with emphasis on building and shaping finance, governance, and legal infrastructure rather than maintaining the status quo.
- Close executive partnership with the CEO and leadership team.
- Opportunity to architect the financial and governance framework for a rising Australian cybersecurity company according to your vision.
- Remuneration package competitive and aligned with your experience.
Additional Information
Applications must include a detailed CV and a cover letter addressing two critical questions: why this role excites you and why you are pursuing it at this point in your career. Applications lacking a cover letter will not be considered. The interview process will encompass:
- An initial discussion with the CEO.
- Subsequent meetings with executive leadership team members.
- A presentation and mock case study prepared in advance, requiring a 90-day strategic plan.
