Role Overview
An opportunity is open for a Chief Financial Officer to join a greenfield plastic and polymer recycling project in Coimbatore, RS Puram. The position is intended for a senior finance leader who can guide strategy, governance, capital planning, and long-term business growth.
The organization is especially interested in candidates based in Chennai, and in qualified Chartered Accountants or CMA professionals with exposure to automotive, manufacturing, polymer, or plastic component manufacturing environments.
The CFO will be part of the top leadership team and will advise the Managing Director and Board of Directors on financial direction, profitability, funding, expansion, sustainability-linked financing, acquisitions, and IPO preparedness.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and implement the company’s financial roadmap in line with long-term business goals.
- Support profitable growth, value creation for shareholders, and strategic business expansion.
- Partner with leadership on diversification, acquisitions, and investment decisions.
- Build sound financial governance practices and decision frameworks.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, annual planning, and multi-year planning exercises.
- Drive debt and equity fundraising efforts and maintain relationships with lenders, banks, financial institutions, private equity firms, venture capital funds, impact investors, ESG-focused investors, and strategic investors.
- Structure and negotiate funding options such as term loans, project finance, working capital limits, equipment finance, and sustainability-linked financing.
- Optimize capital structure and oversee lender compliance and covenant reporting.
- Lead merger, acquisition, joint venture, and strategic partnership evaluations.
- Manage financial due diligence, valuation work, acquisition case building, and post-deal integration planning.
- Support investment committee material and investor-facing presentations.
- Assess greenfield and brownfield expansion opportunities.
- Coordinate with external advisors, consultants, legal counsel, and investment bankers.
- Head finance, accounts, costing, treasury, commercial, taxation, and internal audit functions.
- Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and annual closing of books.
- Maintain strong accounting systems, internal controls, and SOPs.
- Protect the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of financial data.
- Design a robust MIS framework and deliver daily flash reports, weekly business reviews, monthly MIS, quarterly reviews, and annual financial reviews.
- Build dashboards covering revenue, EBITDA, product profitability, customer profitability, plant-wise P&L, working capital, inventory, yield, energy cost, ESG metrics, and sustainability performance.
- Ensure reports are circulated on time to management and the Board.
- Own overall profitability and financial performance.
- Improve margins, optimize costs, raise productivity, and reduce working capital.
- Track profitability by product and customer and contribute to pricing and commercial decisions.
- Create financial models to support business growth.
- Manage cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning, receivables, payables, inventory, and banking facilities.
- Oversee forex exposure and related risk controls.
- Strengthen treasury processes and cash management discipline.
- Ensure compliance with the Companies Act, Income Tax Act, GST, FEMA, RBI regulations, and future SEBI readiness.
- Lead tax planning efforts and coordinate statutory, tax, and internal audits.
- Maintain compliance across all locations.
- Serve as the primary financial contact for the Board of Directors.
- Prepare board presentations, financial reviews, investment proposals, and performance reports.
- Work closely with directors, auditors, legal advisors, investors, and consultants.
- Strengthen governance, risk management, and internal control systems.
- Conduct monthly reviews with department heads covering production, cost variance, budget adherence, working capital, inventory, project progress, ESG compliance, safety, and sustainability.
- Track corrective actions and ensure accountability for outcomes.
- Evaluate the financial impact of sustainability and circular economy initiatives.
- Build metrics around carbon reduction, resource efficiency, circular economy impact, and waste diversion.
- Support ESG reporting, sustainability audits, green finance initiatives, carbon credit opportunities, and sustainability-linked funding.
- Assess investments and technologies linked to circular economy goals.
- Identify and secure central and state government incentives, manufacturing subsidies, sustainability grants, and technology development grants.
- Coordinate with government agencies and industry bodies to maximize available benefits.
- Lead digital finance improvements including ERP, BI dashboards, financial analytics, and AI-enabled reporting.
- Improve real-time visibility and decision-making through technology adoption.
- Build and implement enterprise risk management frameworks.
