Job description
Position Overview
An outstanding opportunity exists for a Chief Financial Officer within a multi-location, rapidly expanding, low-margin logistics and services business. The CFO is a vital part of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), reporting directly to the CEO, and will contribute significantly to profitable growth and strategic expansion.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategic growth initiatives and provide decision support for scaling operations.
- Manage treasury and cash flow in a capital-intensive working environment.
- Drive productivity enhancements and financial performance management, collaborating with SMT to sustain margin and profit levels.
- Ensure the finance department operates to high professional standards, delivering insightful financial and management reporting including KPIs and trend analysis.
- Support corporate finance activities including mergers, acquisitions, financing growth, due diligence, and integration.
- Serve as a board member and manage communications and reporting to the board.
- Take charge of IT investments related to finance systems upgrades.
- Provide leadership to the finance team to ensure they add business value aligned with growth targets.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Qualified accountant with experience in large, complex, scaling businesses generating circa €100 million in revenue, preferably multi-location.
- Industry expertise within high-volume, low-margin sectors such as logistics, sales & distribution, or supply chain.
- Strong commercial insight with proven experience in strategic planning and delivering growth while improving margins.
- Proficient in forecasting and treasury management, including foreign exchange and multi-currency operations.
- Excellent influencing and communication skills.
- Technologically adept with systems knowledge and project leadership experience.
