Position Overview

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) role involves partnering with ownership and executive leadership to oversee financial strategy, operational performance, growth initiatives, and long-term organizational success. This senior leadership position combines financial management with operational insight to drive sustainable growth and process improvements within the multi-location dealership enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with ownership to formulate and implement the company's long-term strategic goals.
  • Provide executive financial guidance on acquisitions, capital expenditures, and enterprise planning.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the executive team promoting profitable and efficient operations.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and comprehensive financial reporting throughout the organization.
  • Develop financial strategies supporting growth while ensuring fiscal responsibility.
  • Partner with dealership general and business managers to enhance financial performance by analyzing key metrics such as profit margins, inventory turnover, cash flow, and expenses.
  • Drive process improvements and standardize financial procedures to increase operational consistency and discipline.
  • Oversee accounting operations, internal controls, compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, OEM and lender agreements.
  • Maintain relationships with financial institutions, auditors, and strategic partners.
  • Manage treasury functions, banking relations, floorplan financing, liquidity, and capital investments.
  • Lead financial due diligence for acquisitions and strategic growth opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of integrity, accountability, and regulatory compliance within the finance team.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing finance and accounting team, focusing on leadership development and succession planning.
  • Promote innovation in financial systems and business intelligence tools to enhance reporting and decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • At least 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience in a complex, multi-location environment.
  • Strong expertise in financial planning, forecasting, treasury management, internal controls, and compliance.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Preferred: CPA certification and/or MBA degree.
  • Experience in multi-franchise automotive dealership operations and acquisitions is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with CDK software, OEM reporting, and floorplan financing preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

The role offers a competitive monthly base salary between $10,000 and $20,000, complemented by monthly and annual executive incentives historically ranging from $10,000 to $25,000, contingent upon individual and company performance. Benefits include:
