Job description

Role overview

A rapidly expanding, private equity-backed security services platform is looking for a Chief Executive Officer to guide the business through its next stage of scale. The company operates across electronic surveillance, alarm monitoring, integrated security offerings, and manned guarding services throughout the United States. After a major acquisition and strong organic growth, the organization now has a nationwide presence across 46 states and is working to become a fully integrated, enterprise-level security services platform.

The CEO will be based in Los Angeles, CA, with relocation support provided. This is a high-impact leadership role for an executive who can strengthen the platform, expand enterprise relationships, improve operating discipline, and build a category-leading security services company.

The business currently employs about 4,000 people and is at a pivotal point where integration, operational maturity, and scaled growth are essential. The role reports to the Board of Directors and private equity sponsors.

What the role will focus on

  • Setting and executing the company’s long-term growth strategy.
  • Building stronger enterprise customer relationships and expanding into large commercial accounts, including Fortune 500 clients.
  • Supporting additional expansion through both organic growth and acquisitions.
  • Helping transform acquired businesses into one integrated operating platform.
  • Introducing structure, reporting, controls, and performance systems without losing the entrepreneurial energy that has driven success so far.
  • Driving stronger financial outcomes, improved margins, and readiness for future recapitalization or exit.
  • Representing the company externally with customers, investors, partners, acquisition prospects, and employees.

Core leadership responsibilities

  • Build and lead a detailed growth plan for the organization, including annual operating plans and longer-term strategic initiatives.
  • Work closely with the Board and private equity sponsors on value creation priorities and execution.
  • Drive customer acquisition in enterprise markets and strengthen cross-selling, retention, and go-to-market performance.
  • Oversee operational integration across service lines and ensure consistent service delivery, workforce management, and customer experience.
  • Establish KPIs, accountability mechanisms, and performance-management routines across the company.
  • Manage risk programs across both electronic security and manned guarding operations.
  • Develop leadership depth, succession planning, and talent growth across the organization.
  • Create alignment across distributed teams and business units.
  • Partner with the CFO on forecasting, reporting, controls, and financial visibility.
  • Evaluate acquisition opportunities and oversee post-close integration work.

Candidate profile

The ideal executive will bring proven experience leading a large-scale company or business unit, ideally in the range of $500M to $1B+ in revenue. This person should be a strategic operator who is equally comfortable in the boardroom and in the business, with a record of delivering transformation in fast-moving, complex environments.

Experience in security or fire/life safety is preferred, though candidates from similar service-led, labor-intensive industries such as facilities services or business services may also be considered. A background in selling to large commercial enterprises and building trusted relationships with enterprise customers is important.

Requirements

  • Background as a CEO or comparable top executive leading a business or business unit of significant size, ideally in the $500M to $1B+ range.
  • Strong leadership experience in service businesses with national field operations and large frontline workforces.
  • Ability to scale organizations through change, integration, and transformational growth.
  • Track record of winning and expanding relationships with Fortune 500 and other large commercial customers.
  • Experience managing distributed, complex organizations with large employee populations.
  • High emotional intelligence with strong coaching, mentoring, and talent evaluation skills.
  • Proven success building executive teams, aligning culture, and integrating groups after change or acquisition.
  • Ability to create accountability and consistently deliver measurable business results.
  • Excellent communication, influence, and stakeholder-management abilities; prior private equity exposure is an advantage.
  • Strategic mindset with a builder’s approach and a history of delivering meaningful business transformation.
