Job description
About the Role
The Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a compassionate and inspirational leader to guide its next phase of improvement and transformation. The successful candidate will succeed the current Chief Executive, Dr Owen Williams OBE, in September. You will be responsible for leading a dedicated Executive team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and building strong partnerships within the organization and the wider Greater Manchester health system. Embodying the Trust's values of care, appreciation, and inspiration, you will champion leadership grounded in integrity, inclusivity, and transparency. A key focus will be collaborating with partners to develop integrated, population-focused services that prioritize prevention, well-being, and the reduction of health inequalities.
About the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust
The NCA is a large NHS Foundation Trust providing hospital and integrated health and social care services to over one million people across Greater Manchester. With a workforce of 20,000 colleagues, the Trust delivers care in hospital and community settings across Bury, Rochdale, Oldham, and Salford, with the mission to save and improve lives. The NCA is committed to enhancing the health of its local population through consistently high standards of care and close collaboration with local authorities and partners. The Trust believes in its potential to make a significant difference and seeks individuals who align with its core values: care, appreciate, and inspire.

Essential skills include the ability to rapidly establish trusted relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. You will be a visible leader capable of inspiring staff, partners, and the public. Above all, you must demonstrate resilience, authenticity, and a profound dedication to enhancing the experiences, outcomes, and equity for both the workforce and the patients and communities served.
What We Offer
Joining the NCA offers a role with significant purpose and flexibility. The Trust's considerable size and scope provide ample opportunities for professional challenge and career progression. Employees benefit from a competitive package, including a generous annual leave allowance, flexible working options, and protected time for health and well-being activities, promoting a healthier work-life balance.
