About the Role
Community HealthCare Association of the Dakotas (CHAD) is looking for a visionary and strategic Chief Executive Officer to guide its mission of enhancing healthcare access and community health across North and South Dakota. This remote, full-time leadership role involves shaping the future of community health centers throughout the Dakotas while supporting rural and underserved populations through advocacy, innovation, workforce development, and strategic partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide inspiring leadership for CHAD and its associated networks, including the Health Center Controlled Network (HCCN) and Clinically Integrated Network (CIN).
- Collaborate with the Board of Directors to promote strategic priorities and ensure effective governance.
- Foster a high-performance organizational culture focused on collaboration, accountability, innovation, and outstanding service.
- Offer leadership development opportunities for staff and emerging leaders within the organization.
- Champion advocacy efforts, representing CHAD to policymakers, healthcare leaders, and funders.
- Enhance member engagement and build strategic partnerships regionally.
- Oversee financial management, compliance, grant administration, and ensure organizational sustainability.
- Promote workforce development and data-driven strategies across member groups.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, public health, business, public policy, or a related discipline; master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of five years of progressive leadership experience within community health, healthcare, public health, or related sectors.
- Demonstrated success in strategic leadership, stakeholder engagement, advocacy, and financial oversight.
- Proven experience managing complex organizations or programs, including multi-site operations.
- Familiarity with healthcare systems, financing, and community care in the Dakotas.

CHAD has over 35 years of history of promoting equitable, high-quality healthcare in the Dakotas. The role is remote but candidates must reside in North Dakota or South Dakota. It requires frequent travel within these states and occasional regional or national travel for meetings and conferences. Some evening and weekend availability may be needed.
The offered salary range is $130,000 to $150,000 annually, varying based on qualifications and experience. Exceptional candidates may receive compensation beyond this range.
