About the Role
The Jackson County Economic Development Partnership seeks a visionary and relationship-oriented President & Chief Executive Officer to lead its efforts in fostering economic growth for Jackson County, Ohio and its regions. This pivotal leadership role entails advancing the organization after a phase of significant growth and positioning it for continued success through strategic leadership and impactful economic development initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Provide overall executive leadership and define strategic direction for the organization and its related projects.
- Drive initiatives in business attraction, retention, expansion, redevelopment, and investment.
- Act as the primary liaison for employers, investors, developers, site selectors, public officials, state agencies, and regional partners.
- Manage economic development projects from initial opportunity through completion and ongoing relationship management.
- Negotiate and structure strategic partnerships, agreements, incentives, and development opportunities collaboratively.
- Supervise organizational operations, including staff and contractors, program delivery, financial initiatives, grant management, and compliance.
- Enhance organizational capacity by cultivating strategic partnerships and pursuing growth and funding avenues.
- Serve as the chief spokesperson and ambassador representing the Partnership.
Candidate Profile
- Understands economic development as inherently relationship-driven, emphasizing trust, competence, and responsiveness.
- Exhibits decisive yet collaborative leadership balancing strategic vision with practical execution and stewardship.
- Recognizes the importance of sustained support beyond project completion to ensure business and community success.
- Holds a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Possesses at least three years in executive or senior leadership roles, with at least two years preferably in economic development or related fields.
- Demonstrates successful experience forging relationships with business leaders, investors, public officials, and community partners.
- Professional experience in economic development, business leadership, government, community development, chambers of commerce, or nonprofits is valued; professional credentials like OEDA or IEDC are preferred but not mandatory.
