About the Role

The Chief AI Officer (CAIO) is a senior executive position focused on steering the organization's artificial intelligence vision, governance, and innovation. This leadership role requires defining and implementing an enterprise-wide AI strategy in alignment with business goals, identifying opportunities for AI integration across various functions, and managing the responsible deployment of AI technologies. Candidates should excel both in technical proficiency and executive management, with proven success in generating AI-driven business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Craft and implement a comprehensive AI strategy that aligns with the company’s objectives.
Pinpoint areas where AI and machine learning can enhance products, services, operational efficiency, and customer engagement.
Guide AI innovation projects from strategic planning through to execution and user adoption.
Work collaboratively with company leadership to embed AI capabilities within business plans and digital transformation agendas.
Develop and enforce frameworks and policies promoting responsible, ethical AI practices.
Lead and coordinate diverse AI-focused teams including data science, machine learning, engineering, and product initiatives.
Monitor and assess emerging AI platforms, technologies, and market trends to drive innovation.
Collaborate with stakeholders in technology, product, operations, legal, and compliance to ensure smooth AI implementations.
Set AI performance indicators and deliver regular updates to executive leadership on progress.
Promote a culture that encourages ongoing innovation, learning, and teamwork.

Qualifications and Skills

Pursued or hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, Engineering or related discipline; advanced degrees preferred.
Extensive leadership in artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, or technology strategy within enterprises.
Demonstrated expertise in formulating and rolling out enterprise AI strategies.
Deep knowledge of machine learning concepts, generative AI, large language models, predictive analytics, automation, and data-driven decision-making processes.
Proven ability to lead cross-disciplinary teams integrating technology and business.
Experience with cloud-based AI platforms (Microsoft Azure AI, AWS, Google Cloud, OpenAI, Anthropic, or others).
Strong strategic thinking, business insight, and executive management skills.
Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
Understanding of AI governance principles, data privacy, security standards, and regulatory compliance is highly valuable.
Legal authorization to work within the United States is mandatory.
