Azabu Group operates XYZ Central Meat Kitchen, the main production and culinary hub supporting various group restaurants across Sydney, including Choji Yakiniku, Hanasuki, Happi Burger, Happi Ramen, and Prefecture 48. The team prides itself on delivering consistent, authentic Japanese barbecue and shabu-shabu experiences by focusing on quality and uniform preparation.
Position Summary
We are seeking passionate chefs to join our kitchen team in Chatswood, specializing in the precise preparation of yakiniku (Japanese grilled meat). This role involves seasoning, portioning, and cooking meat to high standards used in our group venues across Sydney.
Key Responsibilities
- Precisely prepare and marinate meat cuts for yakiniku, ensuring authentic taste and quality.
- Daily disassembly and portioning of meat cuts necessary for service.
- Maintain proper storage of meat products including correct labeling, date management, and inventory rotation.
- Thoroughly clean and organize kitchen and work areas to uphold hygiene standards.
- Support inventory control and assist with ordering supplies.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Knowledge of yakiniku meat cuts and Japanese culinary techniques.
- Strong knife skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Team-oriented with effective communication skills.
- Strict adherence to hygiene and safety protocols.
- Physical fitness to handle heavy lifting and demanding work.
- Must have a valid work visa allowing employment in Sydney (Working Holiday, Student, Permanent Resident, or Citizen status accepted).
