Role Overview
As a Checkout Operator, you will assist customers directly at checkout points, supporting them through cash and electronic payments, and ensuring compliance with regulations on restricted goods sales. This role offers valuable experience for individuals eager to develop their customer service skills within a diverse and supportive team.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers face-to-face at checkout terminals.
- Process payments using both cash and EFTPOS systems accurately.
- Provide product and service knowledge to help customers effectively.
- Ensure adherence to policies related to selling age-restricted items like tobacco and alcohol.
- Support customers using self-service checkout options.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrates a clear understanding of excellent customer service principles.
- Capable of making customer-focused decisions aligned with company policies and systems.
- Exhibits strong communication skills and effective teamwork.
- Able and willing to stand throughout the duration of shifts.
- Maintains a warm and welcoming demeanor to customers.
Work Schedule
The role includes a Saturday shift from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with additional roster options potentially available.
