Role overview

This full-time custodial position is based in St. Thomas, Ontario and follows a Monday to Friday schedule from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. The pay rate for this role is $20.40 per hour.

What you will do

• Clean, dust, sanitize, and disinfect both vertical and horizontal surfaces as well as fixtures.
• Carry out floor care tasks including sweeping, vacuuming, dry mopping, and wet mopping.
• Collect, remove, and dispose of garbage and recyclables.
• Use the appropriate tools and equipment needed for assigned cleaning work.
• Move furniture and equipment when required for cleaning or floor maintenance.
• Help load, unload, and deliver cleaning products, consumables, and equipment.
• Support supervisors by tracking stock levels and helping order and restock supplies.
• Maintain the company cell phone, answer calls, check emails, and update logs, inspections, and reports in the electronic system.
• Submit hour confirmations according to payroll timelines and raise any concerns, issues, or requests with the supervisor or manager.
• Coordinate with afternoon staff and school leadership, including the principal and vice-principal, and follow up on events, projects, and routine concerns.
• Take on other related duties as assigned.

What we are looking for

• Clear oral and written communication skills for dealing with clients and supervisors.
• Strong attention to detail and a thorough approach to cleaning work.
• Good judgment and discretion when handling sensitive client information.
• Prior cleaning experience is an advantage.
• Successful background check.

Physical demands

• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Comfortable standing and/or walking for the full shift.
• Must be able to bend, stretch, pull, carry, climb stairs, and lift as part of the job.
