About the Role
This position involves leading the production of chocolate and confectionery with a focus on maintaining superior quality, consistency, and adherence to food safety standards. It combines hands-on manufacturing skills with responsibilities in product development, cost calculation, and production planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute chocolate and confectionery production following approved recipes and quality benchmarks.
- Create innovative products aligned with emerging market trends and consumer preferences.
- Lead and supervise the production team by distributing daily assignments and overseeing their performance.
- Ensure full compliance with quality assurance programs and HACCP food safety regulations.
- Apply specialized chocolate-making techniques such as tempering, precise temperature control, molding, filling, and finishing.
- Oversee the quality of raw materials and manage proper storage and handling procedures.
- Calculate product costs accurately and assist initiatives aimed at cost optimization.
- Enhance production efficiency by reducing waste and maximizing overall productivity.
- Collaborate with procurement and warehouse departments to ensure timely availability of raw materials.
- Utilize ERP software to plan production schedules, manage inventory, and generate reports.
- Prepare production documentation and actively contribute to continuous improvement efforts alongside management.
Requirements
- A minimum of five years' professional experience working in chocolate manufacturing is essential.
- Certification in Chocolate Making, Pastry Arts, Culinary Arts, or a closely related discipline is required.
- Proven mastery of advanced chocolate techniques: tempering, temperature regulation, molding, filling, and finishing.
- Comprehensive understanding of HACCP guidelines, food safety protocols, and quality assurance standards.
- Experience in product cost and production costing calculations.
- Competence in using ERP systems for scheduling production and managing inventories.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Strong leadership qualities complemented by excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
